Redmond, also known as the bicycle capital of the northwest, is home to the main campus of Microsoft. It extends from Bellevue back into the Snoqualmie Valley. Full of rolling hills and lots of trees, here you can live close to town and still feel like you are in the woods. Many areas are so heavily forrested that you don’t even realize you are driving past a neighborhood.
Location: east of Bellevue along Hwy 520, at the north end of Lake Sammamish
Companies located here: Microsoft, Nintendo, Terex/Genie Industries
Schools: mostly Lake Washington School District, a little bit of Northshore School District
Key Points of interest: Marymoor Park, Redmond Town Center, many historical buildings and farmhouses
Bottom line: Good schools, good shopping, and a good commute to Microsoft
